1. The Stuck Tune Syndrome
Have you ever found yourself humming or whistling a song just out of the blue for no apparent reason? Chances are you heard that tune recently without noticing. Maybe a jingle from a commercial, a song on the radio or maybe it's a common tune that now has surfaced from your subconscious.
In this experiment you can induce someone subliminally to hum a tune.
First choose a tune or song that is well known and catchy. A few examples: The Flintstones theme, Jingle Bells, Fly me to the Moon...
Then choose a subject to experiment on ;) like your wife, husband, or a friend.
Now find a moment when that person is occupied doing something and just pass by humming the tune. Or maybe while having dinner just hum the tune. The subject must hear it but don't make it so obvious for him/her to ask you about it.
In a few minutes the subject will hum the tune. Ask him/her where that came from, "I don't know" is the common answer.
2. One question.
I this experiment you will ask only one question to another person. So choose a subject and say:
"I'm going to ask you one question. Respond to it quickly. Don't stop and think about it. Just say the first thing that comes to mind."
"Ready?" Ask the question: "How old are you?"
75% of people don't answer with their real age.
Of those the majority answer with a number less than their real age. The most popular answers are 1 or 2 years less or some age in their teens.
By asking for a quick answer we are forcing the mind to not process the answer rationally and retrieve the information from the subconscious mind.
Psychologist explain the subconscious may have a link to an event in the past that still thinks is living or unfinished. Also it is known that our mind may age differently than our body. Our subconscious obeys to our psychological age more than our body age.
3. Instant Memory
I have a ton of things to remember. Meetings, emails to send, calls to make, chores to do, hmm what else... there are so many things! :) .Well for that we have our nifty little organizers. I have my Desktop task organizer/alarm where I keep many of the things to do. I have no PDA, handheld or blackberry to help me when I'm not on my PC! Well it's just me; I don't like to carry multiple gadgets around. So for some things I still rely on that old hardware between my ears called a brain.
I use to forget common things like remembering to drop off the dry cleaning, return a movie, even pick up something I sent to the printer 5 minutes ago!
Well there is an easy mind programming technique you can use to remember anything at any point of time. You can even program yourself to wake up at an EXACT time in the morning.
You just need to say one phrase out loud to you self, like this: "Tomorrow at 10:00 when I see the phone on my desk, I will remember to call xxxx. It's programmed in my mind."
That's it! And you don't have to think about it through the day. At the exact moment the memory will jump up.
Another example I use all the time:
"Today when I'm driving home on xxxxx street I'll remember to [drop off/pick up] my dry cleaning. It's programmed in my mind."
Or:
"Tomorrow I'll wake up at 6:30 AM. It's programmed in my mind."
Don't believe me? Try it. At the precise moment and place, your mind will serve you with that memory. And it is unconscious. You can be thinking in flying monkeys but like a flash when the mind is triggered (by the time, the place, the things you see...) it will automatically tell you "Hey! You told me to remember this...”
4. You are in the dessert...
Follow these instructions:
Relax, breathe calmly and slowly.
Visualize the following scene. Pay attention and concentrate on the content of the words.
Imagine that today is a very hot day, you are in the dessert, you haven't had anything to drink for hours, your throat is dry, your lips are dry, try to live it, visualize it, feel it.
The only thing you have to quench your thirst is a big yellow, acid lemon.
You cut the lemon in two, take one half and put it over your mouth, visualize it clearly.
Now squeeze the lemon and let the drops fall in your mouth, many drops are falling and you swallow the acid juice of the lemon...
Did your mouth water? Did you swallow more saliva than normal? I'm sure you did.
This is a test of the stimulus connected to a reflex, called conditioning. In this case the stimulus was purely mental. By imagining a certain situation your body reacted as if it was completely real. Many times the stimulus can appear to be unrelated. For example sometimes we feel bad or depressed for no reason. Maybe something in the environment (sound, word, smell, etc) triggered that emotion. Same as when feeling hyped or plain happy for no apparent reason. The mind remembers and stores EVERYTHING. When the environment is similar to a previous event, those feelings surface unconsciously.
5. Sports Improvement.
Do you want to improve your game? Sure! We all do. I'm going to show you a secret technique that is an improvement booster for any sport. If you don't do sports you can transport this technique to other activities.
So suppose you want to improve your golf swing. You're working on the proper technique and have your Mindzoom software running golf affirmations, that's great! So next time you practice in the driving range do this: Relax for a moment and visualize yourself doing a superb swing, giving the ball a clean hit and seeing it fly away. Notice how it looks, feels, the sound of the club hitting the ball, it's gone. Now the moment you are visualizing that great hit, pinch your thigh or close your fist firmly (or choose any physical signal). What we want to do is form an inner association between a great swing and a physical signal.
Now start hitting balls for real and when you make a good shot do the pinching thing again (when your shot is not good don't do anything). Do that over and over again when you practice. Now when you are out on the course pinch your thigh first and then swing and hit the ball. Your mind and body will respond by repeating that superb swing. Eventually you will swing and hit better and better. By doing that physical signal you are telling your subconscious "Hey every time I do this my swing should be perfect!"
This can be done basically for anything you are practicing and need to improve.
Final note.
I hope you enjoyed these simple experiments. Basically they show us how we are influenced by the environment without noticing and how our thoughts (conscious and unconscious) define our actions and who we are. We are constantly bombarded by external messages from the world and we form our personality and actions accordingly to those messages. It would be great if all those messages were positive, motivating, invigorating. Remember the Mindzoom Software will help you get all those positive ideas through and make you a better person.
