Where are your golden eggs?

Hi!

You know sometimes we're so busy chasing goals
that we lose ourselves in the process. Remember
the story of the goose that laid the golden egg?

One day, a farmer discovers his pet goose has
laid a golden egg. But instead of looking after
the goose and nurturing it, he decides to splice
open it's belly to get more eggs!
To his dismay, the farmer doesn't find any more
golden eggs and even worse, the goose is now dead!

Being successful is not just about getting more
golden eggs or results. If you want to be happy
in the long run, you also need to take care of
the asset that creates your results - that is YOU!

My fiend Matt Clarkson has an excellent e-course
which has helped thousands of people just like you.

You'll learn the simple meditations and breathing
exercises you need to achieve your highest ambitions
and be fulfilled.

In fact, you'll not only learn plenty of ways to
reduce stress, you can even listen to his
meditations online right here, right now:

Affirmations that don't work

At some point of time many people become stuck and maybe feel frustrated thinking the whole point of practicing affirmations just doesn't work.

If you don't practice affirmations, let me tell you some news: Want it or not we all practice affirmations.

In one way or another we are constantly talking to ourselves, some quietly, some in thoughts and even some of us out loud (making us the crazy person at the stoplight :P ), we tell ourselves what we have to do during the day, what we would like to become, and even sometimes we punish ourselves with words.

The action of talking to ourselves or self-messaging can be considered an affirmation: A statement or assertion of a desirable intention, spoken or thought, and directed to one's self.

Affirmations, when worded correctly, offer an unlimited creative power to manifest your goals and desires.

The problem of affirmations not working as expected comes when they are lacking some fundamental principles that make them extremely powerful.

Let's check out some sentences and figure out their weaknesses:
"I will have a sound sleep."

Problem: Future tense without resolution. Affirmations are more effective in the present tense. But if stated in the future they need to be explicit on when it will become true. This affirmation states that sometime in the future you will sleep good, but when? Maybe tomorrow or maybe never. So a simple addition can correct this:
"I will have a sound sleep tonight."

Better! If you must use future tense it is Ok but always stating a finite resolution date.

You can also rephrase to use the present tense, something like this:
"I sleep profoundly all through the night."

Now check this one:
"I don't like smoking."

Problem 1: It is a negative statement. Avoid using negatives like "don't","not","no". Problem 2: It focuses on what you don't want; it is more powerful to focus on what you DO want. A better choice would be:
"I enjoy being healthy and breathing fresh air."

Another one:
"I am losing weight."

Problem: Not specific enough. Try to be specific on your goal, like:
"I am losing 15 pounds by December 31st, this year."

Also consider the following elements that will make your affirmations more powerful:

Passion and emotion: Affirmations that evoke your emotions and that are goals you are passionate about will increase the effect tenfold.

Persistence and repetition: Your conscious mind is really stubborn; It is filled with previous beliefs that many times stop your current desired goals. That is why we need to repeat and persist.

Believe-Receive: Many times doubt is stronger than intent, so our goals are met half way or even stomped completely. Affirmations help us make those beliefs stronger, but remember to approach your goal with complete conscious belief. We want the subconscious command to meet with the conscious belief and bingo! there is when the magic happens!

On a final note I would like to invite you to check out Mindzoom.net and the MindZoom Subliminal Affirmation Software. Doing affirmations is great! But there comes a time when we simply don't have the time and patience to overcome the effort of doing them the traditional way. Luckily technology is on our side, so with the Mindzoom program you can let your PC do all the hard work! Mindzoom addresses all the elements we talked about earlier using subliminal techniques and cutting-edge programming.

Subliminal Messages: What are they and do they work?

As you know MindZoom software uses subliminal techniques to "get the message across" and reach you subconscious. Some readers have asked me to explain a little more about what subliminal messages are.

We all have heard of them "Subliminal messages". It's fascinating to think we can enter commands to our minds and use them to our own benefit. It's frightening to think that we can be influenced by commands put into our brain by something or someone without us noticing. But before you run to put your tin foil hat on read on and learn a bit more about them.

Subliminal message: Is a signal or message, some times embedded in another object, designed to pass below the normal limits of perception. These messages are indiscernible to the conscious mind, but are perceptible to the subconscious or deeper mind: for example, an image transmitted so briefly that it is only perceived subconsciously, but not otherwise noticed.

How do we know that our brain perceives subliminally?

Laboratory research has explored the extent to which subliminal stimulation is reaching our brain. Latest studies show that subliminal messages do enter the brain.

Scientists at the University College London (UCL) have found physiological evidence that invisible subliminal images do attract the brain's attention on a subconscious level. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), the study looked at whether an image a viewer wasn't aware of - but one that reached the retina - had an impact on brain activity in the primary visual cortex. The result is that the brain is logging subliminal images that attract our attention without us having the impression of having seen anything. Similar studies have been conducted with sound waves bordering the human perception levels (20Hz to 20kHz).

Now the question is does our brain understand the messages and is there an impact on our behavior.

The truth is that in order for messages to influence us: 1) Need to have a meaning to the receptor. 2) Need to associate to something we know or feel 3) Have to reinforce a desire.

A message being caught by your subconscious, but not being understood will do little effect. For example receiving messages in Chinese and you don't speak the language. An interesting effect here is that if you later learn Chinese, the previous subliminal messages stored in your mind will start to make sense.

Even if the message is understood, an association to our reality is important. Take the message: "The house must be white". Wait a minute, what house? If you where to paint your house, now it would make sense to your subconscious and an inclination towards white would be set.

To be more effective a message has to endorse a desire. If you are opposed to a goal, the messages won't have great effect. Up to now there is no hard evidence that subliminal messages make you do things you don't want to. What about messages in commercials and advertising? If you see a movie where many scenes show for example a Pepsi can in the background, maybe you didn't really notice it, but your mind recorded it. Yet it doesn't mean you are going to run out and buy Pepsi. Although if you where thirsty an association will be made. When you go for a drink and are deciding what to buy, a Pepsi soft drink would be a stronger choice than before.

Affirmations are the best way to encourage yourself to bring to reality the outcome of a desired goal. Through our life our conscious mind forms beliefs, and many times those beliefs are negative and form a barrier. Many times we don't achieve goals because we think we are not able. Subliminal affirmations bypass that barrier and tell the subconscious to change that belief to what we want to be our new belief. In this case subliminal messages are effective! Take a real conscious desire and make it meet with a subconscious affirmation and bingo! the situation is most sure to be achieved.
